EC-regulations require to analyse all hazards of a machine according to CE-standards before the item is brought to market. Since the end of 2009 this analysis is called Risk Evaluation.
In case of a law suit against the liable producer or importer, only such an analysis can prove that you have been thinking about how to minimise the risks for a user of your machine.
Only such risks which are unavoidable due to the machine´s function are tolerable. In that case however, the user must be properly instructed by the Operating Instructions Manual and warned by Instructions for Use labels and warning signs on the machine.
